Children and Adolescents Parliament Right to Education continues to empower young leaders by creating opportunities to engage with institutions working for children across Sindh.
The Children & Adolescents Parliament on Right to Education (RTE), together with the Thar Education Alliance (TEA) team, had the privilege of meeting UNICEF Sindh, Pakistan. The session began with introductions, followed by a documentary showcasing the inspiring journey, achievements, and impact of the Children and Adolescent Parliament, highlighting how young voices are creating meaningful change.
A key highlight was the inspiring guidance shared by Mr. Prem Bahadur Chand, Chief of Office, UNICEF Sindh, who encouraged children to confidently speak about their rights, raise their voices for those who cannot, and become champions for every child, especially those still deprived of education. He also emphasized the importance of understanding public budgets to advocate for better educational opportunities and ensure resources reach children who need them most.
The young parliamentarians proudly shared how the program has strengthened their learning, leadership, and advocacy skills. They reflected on their exposure to political and budget-making processes, meetings with the Chief Minister of Sindh, ministers, and other government leaders, and how these experiences have deepened their understanding of governance and public policy.
The discussion also highlighted critical issues related to children’s rights to education, health, and nutrition. The UNICEF Nutrition Team expressed interest in engaging these young leaders in future initiatives across their districts.
