Khurram Shahani, Speaker of the Sindh Children and Adolescents’ Parliament on Right to Education (C&AP on RTE), along with Imama Shahani, MPA from District Dadu, held a scheduled meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dadu, Syed Murtaza Shah, at his office.
During the meeting, C&AP on RTE Dadu raised key education challenges affecting children across the district. The discussion covered the condition of schools, education budgets, school rehabilitation, and children’s access to quality education.
A particular request was made for the reopening of Khair Muhammad Malokani Primary School in Kachho, which is important for ensuring continued access to education for children in the area. The Deputy Commissioner assured his support to the young advocates on the Right to Education and committed to taking up the matter with the relevant authorities and following up on it.
The meeting also created an opportunity for stronger collaboration between district authorities and the Children and Adolescents’ Parliament, including the participation of young representatives in district-level education engagements and programmes.
Through C&AP on RTE Dadu, children and young advocates are given a platform to raise concerns directly with decision-makers and contribute to conversations about education in their communities.
When children are given a meaningful platform, their concerns can reach the people and institutions that can help bring positive change. This is at the heart of the Children & Adolescents’ Parliament on the Right to Education: ensuring that children’s voices are heard, respected, and included in discussions about their right to quality and equal education.
