Pre-Budget Consultation in Badin: Strengthening Girls’ Education in Sindh for Budget 2026–27 | TEA & Malala Fund

Strengthening Girls’ Education Through Policy Dialogue in Sindh

Thar Education Alliance (TEA), with the support of the Malala Fund, successfully organized a pre-budget consultation session in Badin focused on the upcoming Sindh Budget 2026–27.

The consultation brought together key education stakeholders, including education officials, head teachers, and girls from the Champions for Change network, creating an inclusive platform for dialogue on improving the education system in Sindh.

Participants openly discussed critical challenges affecting education access and quality, particularly for girls in underserved areas. They emphasized the urgent need for:

  • Safe and secure school environments
  • Access to clean drinking water in schools
  • Reliable transport facilities for girls
  • Well-equipped science laboratories
  • Functional libraries and learning resources
  • Timely and adequate allocation of school budgets

These recommendations reflect the collective vision of communities and young girls striving for a more equitable and effective education system.

The consultation highlighted that investing in safe, inclusive, and resourceful schools is essential for improving enrollment, retention, and learning outcomes—especially for girls in rural Sindh.

Through this initiative, TEA and Malala Fund continue to strengthen youth and community voices in shaping education policies that lead to long-term, sustainable impact.
